Panagiotis Filippou
In Ramia, as in most villages, nicknames are not only used in place of names, but... they are also inherited. This is what happened to Panagiotis Filippou, whose father during his military service was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, which ing Greek is "Lochias". The result was that for the rest of his life, he was known in the village as "O Lochias", meaning: "the Sergeant".
Panagiotis, after several years of business activity in Ioannina and other cities, returned to Ramia in 2016, opening the only tavern in the village. Of course, honoring the heritage, he named it "Stou Lochia", giving at the same time the stamp of a welcoming space, for every moment of the day.
The return of Panagiotis to Ramia, in addition to the return to the roots, was also accompanied by a vision of development and extroversion for the village itself, whose potential remained untapped.
Soon the "Stou Lochia" tavern was moved to the central square of the village and thanks to the friendly service, the unique flavors - based on local recipes and pure raw materials - as well as the excellent prices, it became a pole of attraction for the surrounding area.
Simultaneously with the above, the beauty of Tzoumerka and the unlimited possibilities for nature and mountain lovers began to become more widely known. The completion of the Ionian Road motorway and the Egnatia Road motorway facilitated access and the increase in visitors and excursionists created a new need for accommodation.
The welcoming disposition of Panagiotis found a new field of expression. He undertook the renovation and organization of traditional houses, which he made available to those who wanted to spend a few days in Tzoumerka, with their family or friends and were looking for a more authentic stay experience.
This is how "Villa Lochia" was born in the center of Ramia, which was followed by four other houses, in Ramia and the nearby Mikrospiria.
With the welcoming and positive attitude of a man who loves his birthplace and wishes to share its natural beauty, Panagiotis Filippou welcomes you to "Villa Lochia" for an unforgettable stay in Ramia and to the "Stou Lochia" tavern, for unique gastronomic experiences .
